My time is NOT mine

The right to independent living is also the right to your own time, and barriers keep taking it away.

Part of KEEP Driven, an Erasmus+ project on participation co-financed by the European Union, where young people with disabilities from Italy, France and Latvia shaped a campaign on independent living.

Our demand / Manifesto
We want to live independently.

We want to decide how we live our daily lives. We want support service systems that adapt to our rhythms. We want accessible transport, flexible education and work opportunities, and the right to be heard when decisions about our lives are made. Our time belongs to us. Not someday.Now.

01

We want to decide how we live our daily lives, without having to depend on other people's schedules.

02

We want support services that give us freedom and autonomy, adapt to our rhythms and health conditions, and allow us to take care of ourselves.

03

We want laws that truly guarantee independent living and are fully implemented in every country.

04

We want accessible public transport and support services that allow us to study, work, meet friends and participate fully in society.

05

We want flexible opportunities in work and education, without being pushed into isolation or excluded from participation.

06

We want to be heard and involved when decisions about our lives are made, because our experiences must help shape the society around us.

07

We want an equitable system for people with disabilities in Europe: a system that gives us choice, control and ownership over our own time and lives.
